Life Skills, Sports and Mentorship Program

LIFE SKILLS, SPORTS AND MENTORSHIP PROGRAM

A mentorship program with a focus on leadership and skills development.

The majority of the children attending our activities do not have a well-structured family life. Neither do they have access to, nor are they encouraged and supported in trying out new opportunities to develop new skills or to build and increase their confidence in their own abilities.

ACF addresses the situation via three main initiatives:

YOUTH GROUP MEETINGS
Children attending the weekly Youth group meetings and mentorship program participate in various activities which shares information about topics like the ‘7 Habits of Effective Teenagers’; effective decision making, self-protection and safe ways to use social media.

They can also sign up for our ‘After School Program which gives them access to art, music and English classes.

STEP-Up (SKILLS, TRAINING AND EDUCATION PROGRAM)

BAKING TRAINING
It is ACF’s goal to provide children with practical opportunities to develop new skills and help find their interest for their future careers in the hospitality sector. This takes place through a baking training program jointly managed by ACF and chefs from the Marriott Group of Hotels.

Exposure to new opportunities and developing new skills guide children in finding their interests and strengths, which leads to better decision making when choosing their courses for future studies.

SPORT ACTIVITIES AND TRAINING
Football and rugby development programs, including swimming and water safety are also used to develop confidence, life and leadership skills.
