CORNERSTONE COMMUNITY SCHOOL
WHY BUILD A SCHOOL?
After the 2004 Tsunami, a British sponsor who lost his wife in the disaster, donated 12 Rai of land (19,000 sqm) to ACF so we could expand our work amongst the disadvantaged and at-risk children in the community.
Plans have been approved for building an education, sport, and life skills center. The Cornerstone Early Childhood Education Center was built in 2017, and a Kitchen and dining room facility, as well as a Shelter were completed in 2018. In 2023 the first of two Primary Education Learning Centers was built.
ADDRESSING SPECIFIC NEEDS
Children from disadvantaged families have many different unattended needs, most of which can not be addressed in the local Thai school system. ACF addresses these needs through our play based early childhood education approach, and will soon provide primary education in English from our own primary school.
Our focus includes identifying and assisting children with emotional, physical and educational development issues, and ensuring they are educated in a safe educational space. ACF will make use of the ‘School of Tomorrow’ (ACE) primary school curriculum which allows each child to work at their own pace.
FUTURE PLANS
The next phase of the project includes an urgent extension of the current full care accommodation provided by our Shelter (6) located at the back of our land. Due to emergency needs we need to provide shelter to 5 children as soon as possible.

The changing rooms (1) at the football field is still to be built.
Lastly a Youth and Community Center (7) will be designed upon the hill behind the primary school building from where children from the local community as well as Cornerstone Primary School will have access to multiple recreation and life skill development opportunities.
